The Georgia Chapter is hosting our first in-person technical session in 2023. Our meeting will be hosted at the Atlanta offices of GEI Consultants.The event will include dinner and social hour for those that RSVP, at a cost of only $15 for Chapter members and $25 for non-members.

The technical meeting details are as follows:

Time: 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. (Chapter meeting and dinner at 5:30, presentation starts at 6:30, Happy Hour from 7:30 to 8:30)

Location: GEI, 3065 Akers Mill Road, Suite 235, Atlanta 30339 (Building is at the corner of Akers Mill and Cumberland. Follow the entrance drive to the parking garage. Free parking.)

Topic: In-Situ Remediation: Practice and Perspective
A conversation about in-situ best practices for design, with an overview of select in-situ technologies and examples of installed in-situ remedies across a variety of site types. We’ll look at the difference between data collection for assessment and delineation versus data needs for remedial design; things to be thinking about while going through remedy selection; considering safety, PPE, materials compatibility rules when working with in-situ reagents; and, look at some interesting case studies that explore the broad range of site settings and their contaminants. We’ll touch on lithology, chemistry, biology and the interaction among these as it relates to in-situ remediation.
